Our Farm Our farm, La Gantoise Inc., is located in the picturesque village of Lefaivre, Ontario, across the Ottawa River from the famous Chateau Montebello. We're just a short one hour drive from Montreal or Ottawa and their respective international airports.
History Our family has a proud history of retail meat sales that can be traced back to Marie J. Goubau's grandmother, Anaïs De Groote, in Belgium. She started by selling packed meat lunches to workers heading off to work... at 4:00AM - every day! From those humble beginnings the business grew into a leading retail meat producer and distributor in the city of Gent, Belgium; hence the name "La Gantoise" for the farm in Lefaivre. Our Herd Since 1983, La Gantoise has been breeding full blood Belgian Blue Beef and supplied other breeders in North and South America with breeding stock. Embryos and bull semen sales are also part of our activities Raising Belgian Blue Beef - BBB- and Belgian Blue Crosses - BBL- is done without hormones or antibiotics in a free roaming environment. Skillfully Prepared Traceable Beef At La Gantoise, the foodchain has only 2 links - you, the consumer and us, the producer. Our frozen meat also comes with a guarantee of traceablility for every cut of beef you purchase. Our experienced on-site butcher knows how to prepare fine cuts of beef. It's always a good idea to give us a call before dropping by, we'll be sure to have what you need ready for pick-up. |

Give us a call and drop by for a visit! Our Farm Store is open Saturdays from 10AM to 5PM. We also attend local festivals and food fairs, so have a look at our news section and drop on by! Also a Dairy Farm In addition to being a leading Belgian Blue Beef producer, La Gantoise is also a working dairy farm with a 200 head free stall dairy barn.
